Description
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and several members of his government take part in a "kippah march" against anti-Semitism in central Stockholm, which he says has been "very obviously" on the rise since the outbreak of war between Israel and Hamas on October 7. "I want my government to show that we are very much against that and very much in favour of Jews being able to live their lives in freedom and security here," Kristersson tells AFP. Israel declared war on Hamas after the militant group's October 7 attacks that killed 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and which saw around 240 hostages taken back to Gaza, according to Israeli authorities. Israel has vowed to eradicate Hamas and secure the release of all the hostages. The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza says the war has killed more than 16,248 people in the territory, most of them women and children. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
