Description
Families of Israeli hostages still in Gaza attend a candle lighting ceremony for the Jewish holiday of Hannukah in Tel Aviv. A special 138-candle menorah represents the 138 hostages who are still being held captive by Hamas. "I wanted to show my support" says Zeba Goldberg, one of those attending, "hopefully being here helps". The ceremony comes as the bitter war between Israel and Hamas enters its third month since the deadly militant attacks on October 7. The attack killed 1,200 people in Israel and saw a further 240 taken hostage, according to Israeli authorities, with 80 being freed during a seven-day truce that ended last week. In Gaza, Israel's military response to the attack has killed more than 17,000 people, according to the territory's Hamas-run health ministry. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
