French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne arrives in Mayotte for a lightning visit to France's poorest department, which is facing severe drought, migratory pressure from the neighbouring Comoros and growing insecurity. The archipelago, located in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Southeastern Africa, chose to remain with France in the 1974 Comorian independence referendum. IMAGES
