On paper, Alimja Bejic no longer exists in Serbia. After Serbian officials deleted her official address, Bejic said her ability to work has been hampered, that she has been stripped of her right to vote in the December 17 elections and has been denied access to health care. Bejic is one of many of ethnic Albanians living in southern Serbia who have accused authorities of expunging their home addresses from official documents, leading to a series of knock-on effects disrupting everyday life.
