Description
Germany will reimpose its constitutional limit on public debt in 2024, Chancellor Olaf Scholz says in a statement, announcing a deal on next year's budget after a court ruling forced a revision of his coalition's spending plans at the last minute. "In the 2024 budget we will keep to the the debt rules under Article 115 of the constitution," Scholz says, referring to a regulation limiting borrowings to 0.35 percent of gross domestic product.
