Description
Oleg Orlov, a veteran human rights campaigner and co-chair of the Nobel Prize-winning group Memorial, who was convicted earlier of discrediting Russian forces, says that the prosecution "could not prove anything or present anything as serious proof of what they were saying" after a Russian court which had overturned its decision to fine him. The Moscow city court said Thursday in a statement that it was handing the case against Oleg Orlov back to the prosecution so it could present a new argument, after they appealed the fine and asked for three years in jail instead.
