Around 25 supporters of former Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili gather outside his hospital in Tbilisi, where he remains under police custody, to congratulate him on his 56th birthday. Saakashvili, a flamboyant pro-Western liberal, was president of Georgia from 2004 to 2013 and subsequently went into exile in Ukraine, where he had served as a top advisor on reforms to President Volodymyr Zelensky. Arrested on his return to Georgia in 2021, doctors have previously raised serious concerns over his health after he staged a 50-day hunger strike. IMAGES
