At the Roma Rock School in North Macedonia's capital Skopje children of all ages and backgrounds are brought together to jam, learn and overcome deep divisions in the multicultural Balkan country. The school offers courses in music theory and instrument and voice classes along with rehearsal space for aspiring young musicians. "For the time being we are working with mixed bands with young people from Roma and Macedonian, but we are open (to taking in all others)," says Alvin Salimovski, project manager and founder of the Roma Rock School.
