'For us, this is the period when we're harvesting, so inevitably it comes at the worst possible time,' says Olivier Laban, President of the Arcachon-Aquitaine regional shellfish farming committee, expressing his sadness as, just days before New Year's Eve, oysters from the Arcachon Bay, in southwest France, have been temporarily banned from sale following 'several cases of collective food poisoning'.
