Dozens of Christmas trees and toys are displayed outside the Palestinian embassy in Moscow in solidarity with Gaza. In the last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to continue supplying the territory with humanitarian aid and urged a peaceful resolution to fighting between Israel and Hamas, which began on October 7, when the Gaza-based group launched a surprise attack, killing about 1,140 people and taking another 250 hostage, according to an AFP tally based on Israeli figures.
