Hundreds of men jump in to Bulgaria's icy Tundzha river for a swim to mark the Epiphany. A cross is thrown into the river in the central Bulgarian town of Kalofer to mark to the event, which in the eastern Orthodox Church is celebrated as the baptism of Christ, and the first person to retrieve the cross is supposedly blessed with good health. "There isn't a single man who has danced in the Tundzha river and fell ill," says Petar Petrov, a participant from Varna.
