Imprisoned Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny appears via video link from the IK-3 prison colony, above the Arctic Circle, during a Supreme Court hearing in Moscow on his complaint about restrictions on the books he can access in prison. Navalny, who is serving a 19-year sentence on charges of extremism, arrived at the remote penal colony in December after a long transfer during which his family had received no news, raising fears for his health and safety.
