Description
A former subpostmistress, who was jailed because of faulty accounting software used at the Post Office in the UK, says she would have killed myself in prison if she was not pregnant at the time. Seema Misra was released from her 15-month sentence after four months, but still had to give birth while wearing an ankle bracelet. The Post Office where Misra worked has since been demolished, but she says the stigma of her incarceration remains and the ramifications of her now-overturned sentence have been dire for her family. "The family suffered financially, mentally. We couldn’t enjoy the family moments together" she says. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
