Description
In Rabat, over a thousand Moroccans celebrated the Amazigh New Year as a public holiday for the first time in the kingdom, a long-standing demand of Berber activists which was granted in May 2023 by King Mohammed VI. The Berbers call themselves "imazighen", the plural of "amazigh", which means "free man" in their language. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
