"It's not that the caucuses decide who will the President be," professor of political science at Drake University in Des Moines Dennis Goldford tells AFP as the Iowa caucuses set to kick off on Monday.
He believes that the casual voters won't show up but only "the most extreme or the most dedicated activists" will be present at the contest.
