Ten years after the first implant of its artificial heart, in 2013, French maker Carmat says it now yields "much better results" thanks to "advances in imaging, in 3D, or for pre-operative tests". "It's one of our objectives to try to have an independent heart, without any lines, tubes or lines that go through the skin", explains Carmat's Director of surgical affairs Christian Latremouille.
