Description
The thick fog that covered Venice did not prevent thousands of tourists from crowding the city to attend the traditional mask carnival. Numerous characters wandered around Piazza San Marco, Rialto and the Venetian streets in costume. Among the most popular was the best-known Venetian in the world, the explorer Marco Polo.
