Sau is among the main reservoirs providing water to the Barcelona metropolitan area. Its water levels are below 4,06% after three years of drought in Catalonia. The northeastern Spanish region declared a drought emergency on February 1 for Barcelona and the surrounding area which will be facing tighter water restrictions. IMAGES
