Two environmentally-friendly sailboats are moored in New York, showcasing the potential of a green sailing industry. Three more ships of this type will be launched within the next five years, offering transatlantic departures every 15 days. The Energy Observer is a laboratory boat completing its circumnavigation of the globe. It is 100% self-sufficient in electrical energy, thanks to 200 m2 of solar panels and hydrogen production via electrolysis of desalinated seawater. Grain de Sail, a sailboat based in Saint-Malo, has just completed its first transatlantic crossing under sail in 20 days.
