Description
Amadou Ba, the candidate backed by Senegal’s President Macky Sall and Bassirou Diomaye Faye, backed by opposition leader, Ousmane Sonko, both stand a good chance in this Sunday’s presidential election, a political analyst tells AFP in an interview. "This 2024 presidential election is quite unprecedented," says El Hadji Mamadou Mbaye, a researcher at the University of Saint-Louis. "We have two main candidates who are not actually the real candidates, Amadou Ba, who is behind Macky Sall and Bassirou Diomaye, who is behind Ousmane Sonko. So I think we have candidates who represent other candidates." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
