"We found ourselves staring at death," says a displaced Palestinian from the north of Gaza Strip, fleeing to the south with many other fellow Gazans. The Gaza war was sparked by an unprecedented Hamas attack on October 7 that resulted in about 1,160 deaths in Israel. Israel's retaliatory military campaign in Gaza has killed over 32,000 people, mostly women and children. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
