Description
Hundreds of supporters of the South African opposition Umkhonto We Sizwe (MK) party, which is backed by scandal-tainted ex-president Jacob Zuma, celebrate on a street in Johannesburg after an electoral court in the city ruled that the party can stand in the May 29 general election. The court rejected a complaint by the ruling African National Congress (ANC), Zuma's former party, which said MK's name and symbol were so similar to those of the now disbanded military wing of ANC that this could deceive or confuse voters. "This is a victory not only for the MK, but this is a victory for South Africa, because justice has prevailed," says Lebogang Mashabane, an MK Party member. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
