Description
Former South Korean justice minister and leader of the Rebuilding Korea Party Cho Kuk says he aims to "crack the system" of President Yoon Suk Yeol's government and "neutralize him politically" in upcoming parliamentary elections.
Cho Kuk, a former aide to ex-president Moon Jae-in, was once considered a rising political star who was expected to run to succeed his boss when he was named to lead the powerful justice ministry in 2019.
But soon after the appointment he was engulfed in allegations of favouritism and hypocrisy over his children's schooling. He was sentenced to two years in prison for falsifying the academic documents of his children in 2023. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
