"We have no idea of motive, but we know for sure it's not a terroristic motive", says René Verhuist, mayor of Ede, the central Netherlands town in which four people were taken hostage and subsequently released. The incident took place at a venue popular with young people in the town centre as an armed man burst in as staff were clearing up at around 5:15am local time, according to local media.
