Her name is Aitana Lopez and she already has more than 300,000 followers on Instagram, but this influencer does not exist: she is the result of a Spanish advertising agency's imagination, created entirely by artificial intelligence. "Companies come to us because it's more profitable to contact an AI-generated influencer than a flesh-and-blood one," explains project manager Sofia Novales. At AD Crew, a Paris-based agency that represents some forty real-life influencers and is developing a similar AI project, co-founder Maud Lejeune says these virtual newcomers shouldn't be seen as competition, but rather as a complement, and are impervious to online harassment.
