Description
In a Buenos Aires shopping mall, people are scanning the iris of their eyes in exchange for cryptocurrencies, just as hundreds of thousands of Argentines hit by inflation and fiscal adjustment have already done.
Although Argentina is one of the first countries in the world to scan people's eyes, other countries such as Spain are already hoping to ban the technology, which they say violates people's privacy.
The Orb, a biometric imaging device, scans irises as part of the Worldcoin cryptocurrency's verification system, creating a sort of numerical passport to prove someone's identity, which is intended to reduce fraud. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
