Nicaragua's representative Carlos Jose Francisco Arguello Gomez says its case against Germany at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) is "very serious" and that "many important international obligations" are at stake. Germany has rejected the accusations as "unfounded", saying it respects international humanitarian law. The Central American country claims Germany is in breach of the 1948 UN Genocide Convention and is demanding judges impose emergency measures to stop Berlin providing Israel with weapons and other assistance.
