Description
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says he doubts Israel will attack Rafah before new talks next week in Washington, which has raised concerns over an assault on the packed Gaza city. "I don't anticipate any actions being taken before those talks; for that matter, I don't see anything imminent," Blinken tells a joint news conference with British Foreign Secretary David Cameron. The United States will again make the case that major military operations in Rafah would be "extremely dangerous for civilians who have been caught in harm's way," Blinken adds. British Foreign Secretary David Cameron pleads for US Republicans to approve billions of dollars in military support to Ukraine. "I come here with no intention to lecture anybody or tell anybody what to do or get in the way of the process of politics and other things the United States," Cameron says, speaking alongside Biden's top diplomat Antony Blinken. "I just come here as a great friend and believer in this country and a believer that it's profoundly in your interest," he says, "to release this money."
