Coming to Ukraine to fight his fellow Russian citizens was the only option left for a Siberian Battalion soldier with the callsign "West". The fighter in his thirties says he felt he had to take the decision because unarmed protests in Russia "are not working." Established in the early summer of 2023, the volunteer Siberian Battalion is a part of the International Legion within the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
