Description
US President Joe Biden pledged Thursday to defend the Philippines from any attack in the South China Sea, as he hosted the first joint summit with Tokyo and Manila amid growing tensions with Beijing.
AFPTV footage shot on 5 March onboard Philippine Coast Guard vessel BRP Sindangan show a collision between the ship and a Chinese vessel during a Philippine resupply mission in the South China Sea.
The Philippine Coast Guard said one of its ships was damaged in the collision as it sailed towards Filipino troops on a remote outpost in the South China Sea. The China Coast Guard, meanwhile, said it "took control measures" against "illegal intrusion" in waters around Second Thomas Shoal. FILE IMAGES
