Description
The support committee created for the release of more than 270 high school girls kidnapped ten years ago in Chibok, Nigeria, call on the authorities not to forget the hundred or so still thought to be held captive. "We the Kibaku are deeply disappointed with the pervasive failure by successive governments of Borno State since 2014, in their inability or refusal or failure to rescue all our daughters for a decade now," says Dauda Iliya, Chairman of the Kibaku Community, at a press conference held in Abuja by the association Bring Back Our Girls to mark the anniversary.
The kidnapping sparked a huge global outcry and focused attention on victims of a bloody jihadist insurgency that has displaced more than two million people. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
