The French radical left-wing leader of LFI, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, condemns the cancellation of a conference on Palestine he was set to hold with Franco-Palestinian activist Rima Hassan at the University of Lille in northern France. The event was cancelled at the request of several right-wing leaders. "They know that Rima and I didn't plan to hold a conference that was a racist conference, because anti-Semitism is racism and they know that we are not racists," denounces Mélenchon at a meeting in Roubaix for the European elections.
