Description
A painting by artist Gustav Klimt that reappeared after nearly a century has been sold for 30 million euros ($32 million), setting a record price for an Austrian auction despite questions surrounding its provenance. Hong Kong gallery HomeArt snapped up the "Bildnis Fraeulein Lieser" (Portrait of Miss Lieser), which was commissioned by a wealthy Jewish industrialist's family and painted by Klimt in 1917 shortly before he died. "I had hoped for a bit more, but one can hope..." im Kinsky auctioneer Michael Kovacek says. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
