Description
People in the coastal Cameroonian city of Douala say they are hurting because of inflation. The cost of fuel, food and transport has all risen sharply. To combat this the authorities have set up promotional sales sites for staple foods where they offer subsidies to traders who in turn lower their prices. "It's magical because the prices are practically free, the prices are reduced," says Bernard Benga, a teacher at one of the promotional sales sites in Douala. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
