Description
Aurora Rodrigues and Manuel Alegre, both leading figures in Portugal's anti-fascist resistance during the Salazar regime, talk about their fight for freedom and democracy, and the ordeals they endured during this period, culminating in the Carnation Revolt of 25 April 1974. "25 April was a day of cultural revolution. It was the culture of freedom and deliverance that prevailed over the culture of gags and fear," says Manuel Alegre, a writer and antifascist resistance fighter.
