Description
"The desire for French hegemony in Africa can weigh its weight in blood", Senegalese writer Boubacar Boris Diop tells AFP, referring to the genocide in Rwanda, the 30th anniversary of which is being commemorated. For the intellectual, the complicity of the French state is "too obvious to deny any longer". Boubacar Diop also discusses France's loss of influence in Africa and the "general resentment" that is building up against the nation. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
