"A new tragedy occurred this morning at 5am off Wimereux in a boat overloaded with migrants," deplores Jacques Billant, Prefect of the Pas-de-Calais region, after the death of five migrants, including a seven-year-old girl, a woman and three men, during an attempt to cross the English Channel off the beach at Wimereux in northern France.
