Mexico is the "champion" of production of synthetic drugs including fentanyl, the head of the country's criminal investigation agency acknowledges at international talks aimed at fighting the problem. The blunt admission comes as visiting US officials call for a more agile joint approach to combating drug trafficking by powerful Mexican cartels.
