Chinese President Xi Jinping is due to make a state visit to France on May 6 and 7, with war in Ukraine and the Middle East expected to be high on the agenda.
"During the visit, President Xi Jinping will hold talks with President Macron and exchange in-depth views on China-France and China-EU relations as well as on international and regional hotspot issues of common interest," says Lin Jian, spokesman of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He also comments on Elon Musk's whistlestop visit to Beijing, where the tech billionaire met top officials including Premier Li Qiang as he worked to boost his electric car company's fortunes in the face of intense competition from local challengers such as BYD. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
