Description
A storage basin capable of holding almost 50,000 m3 - the equivalent of 20 Olympic-size swimming pools - will be inaugurated on Thursday near the Gare d'Austerlitz in the centre of Paris, among other works designed to limit and/or clean up wastewater discharges into the Seine. 'The Seine is clearly no longer a rubbish dump, and its ecological and sanitary state is improving day by day,' says Samuel Colin-Canivez, head of major works for the Paris wastewater network.
