After Nepal suddenly banned TikTok in November last year, some Nepalis have skirted the ban entirely by accessing virtual private networks (VPNs). Others, like twin sisters Prisma and Princy Khatiwada, have seen their viewership drop dramatically and are now choosing to use alternative sites. "It was TikTok that helped build our profession," says Prisma who creates synchronised dance routines. "We are now working on music videos and collaborating with brands on Instagram, which is helping us."
