Description
Entire communities in Brazil's south are completely cut off, including the town of Capela de Santana, as persistent rains destroy bridges and block roads, and leave towns without even telephone or internet services. The death toll from floods caused by torrential rains has risen to 13. "People there with cattle on the pasture have to leave the animals up there and they don't know if the water will rise any more," says 52-year-old Capela de Santana resident, Raul Metzel.
