Description
Sub-Saharan Africa representatives from the NGO Reporters Without Borders (RSF) highlight concerns about violence against journalists during election periods and "repressive" attitudes to media freedoms in military-run Sahel states such at a press conference in Senegal’s capital Dakar being held on World Press Freedom Day. “Our analysis shows that some countries are run by juntas. But every time they rule a country, these juntas fall down the rankings because they are repressive in their attitudes to press freedom,” says Sadibou Marong, RSF's director for sub-Saharan Africa.
