Description
A chaplain visits Ukrainian soldiers on the eastern frontline to celebrate Orthodox Easter. With explosions in the distance and smoke on the horizon, men from the 59th brigade go into a small room at an undisclosed location in the Donetsk region for the service. Company commander Mykola feels today is just like any other day, except that they can relax a bit more. He feels if God were here, there would be fewer dead. In another part of the region, servicemen of the 24th brigade are also celebrating Easter with a generous breakfast of cakes, mash potatoes, and soda. Here chaplain Rostyslav Vysochan believes soldiers need both religion and munitions, but stresses the importance of faith in a place of war. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
