Alexandra Stanescu, a journalist and blogger from the Romanian capital of Bucharest, assesses how the prices of food and other essentials have changed in recent years in the country, ahead of this June's European elections. AFP went shopping with her in May 2024 and Alexandra did a comparison with the price of products in February 2019. For the same brand of milk, for example, she paid 15% more this year.
