Operations to check the 3,400 boats parked in Marseille's Vieux-Port (Old Harbour, Eds.) begin ahead of the arrival of the Olympic flame in Marseille on May 8. "There are two types of search on these boats. Firstly, the search for explosives and then (...) the search for weapons and ammunition", explained Major David, head of the DIPN 13 dog squad. A large police force is in place two days before the event, where 150,000 spectators are expected.
