Rescuers navigate the flooded streets of Sao Joao neighbourhood in Porto Alegre after an unprecedented deluge hit the city. The rain has abated, but flooding continues its assault on southern Brazil, with hundreds of municipalities in ruins and food and drinking water fast running out.
