Guatemalan Attorney General Consuelo Porras accuses President Bernardo Arevalo of lying to the people in his fight against corruption, and lashes out at him for trying to push a legal reform through Congress that would remove her from office.
Arevalo accuses Porras, who is under US and EU sanctions for corruption, of plotting to oust him. With a mandate that runs until May 2026, the president cannot legally fire her without showing just cause under current law. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
