Description
The world's largest plant designed to suck carbon dioxide (CO2) out of the air and turning it into rock has been unveiled on Wednesday near Reykjavik.
Named Mammoth, this is the second plant of this kind in the North-Atlantic island after Orca, inaugurated in 2021. Built by Switzerland's Climeworks and Iceland's Carbfix, the plant will draw 36,000 tons of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere every year, when operating at full capacity. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
