An investigation is underway after a Boeing jet came off the runway during takeoff at a major international airport in Senegal injuring several people and leading to the airport being temporarily closed. The Blaise Diagne International Airport, which lies just outside the capital Dakar, reopened to traffic later on Thursday, the airport operator said. "It couldn't take off and the pilot chose to take the plane out onto the field next to it," Askan Demir CEO of LAS, the airport management company which runs Blaise Diagne, tells reporters.
